Orbecta v3.3— Orbecta Contracts is live: contract management that moves with the market
Today I'm launching Contracts, a new module within Orbecta. It's the piece I've thought about longest and talked about least. Time to flip that around.
Procurement teams don't have a shortage of contracts. They have a shortage of overview. A framework contract from 2022 sits somewhere in a SharePoint folder. The indexation clause is on page 14. Nobody knows the notice period by heart. And when steel gets 12% more expensive next week, nobody reads the price and indexation clause in time.
That's the gap Contracts closes.
What it is
Contracts is a contract-intelligence module that runs every supplier contract you upload through six AI lenses:
- Risk clauses: liability, force majeure, IP, exclusivity
- Price & indexation: indexation method, caps, price revision points
- Exit flexibility: notice periods, automatic renewal, vendor lock-in
- Compliance: sanctions, ESG, CBAM, sector obligations
- SLAs & performance: service levels, KPIs, escalation routes, penalties
- CPO synthesis: all lenses combined into a single executive briefing with concrete recommendations
For each contract you get a Contract Briefing back in about five minutes. Not a summary, but negotiation intelligence: pushback strategies, counterproposals and redlines you can actually use at the table.
What it is not
Contracts is not a DMS. It's not a searchable contract database. There are already good vendors that do that, and if you're looking for a plain archive you're better off with them.
What Contracts adds is the live layer on top. Contracts stand still. The world around them does not. Steel jumps 15%? You immediately see which contracts, suppliers and categories are affected, before the supplier calls. Sanctions change? Your portfolio flags by itself which contracts need a review. Deadlines, notice periods and CBAM moments are generated automatically based on what is in your contracts, not based on what someone happened to put in their calendar.
This is why Contracts is connected to Pro Scan, Orbecta's live market-data layer. It's not a standalone piece of software that reads a PDF once. It's a continuous analysis that moves with the world your contracts live in.
Who it's for
Contracts is built for procurement teams with serious contract portfolios. Specifically:
- Organizations with €1M to €500M in annual spend
- Portfolios with 20+ supplier contracts
- Sectors exposed to commodity, energy or FX volatility
- CPOs, Procurement Directors and Supply Chain Leaders who need to support defensible decisions and require audit-ready documentation
If you're still mostly on a single supplier per category without much renewal stress, Pro is enough. Contracts becomes interesting once your portfolio is big enough that you no longer keep it all in your head.
How to get access
Contracts is separate from Orbecta Pro. Pro gives you access to Warroom, Claim Check, Pro Scan and the Intelligence layer. Contracts is a separate module that you request separately.
Right now I'm running Contracts as a pilot program: €1,900 for 12 months of full access. That includes hands-on onboarding: we set up the first five contracts together, configure your intelligence feeds and stay available during implementation. Pilots run on weekly check-ins, not a ticketing system. What I learn from these first customers goes straight into the product.
When the pilot phase is over, Contracts becomes a regular subscription. Whoever joins now keeps the pilot price for as long as the subscription runs.
Why now
Honest answer: because the market now moves faster than most contracts can keep up with. Geopolitical shifts, CBAM, sanction regimes, energy volatility, all of it happens faster than the average contract cycle of three or five years. That means the contract you signed in 2023 is no longer the same document in 2026. The words haven't changed, the context has.
Contracts is my way of making that difference visible.
Getting started
Want to see Contracts? Book a sixty-minute demo. We'll analyze one contract from your own portfolio together, and you'll walk away with at least one concrete risk, opportunity or redline recommendation, whether or not you sign up afterward.
